The BED AND BREAKFAST “Le Poiane” is situated in a panoramic position at 2 km from the town of San Piero Patti (ME), along the provincial road 122, in a strategic point between the sea and the mountain. At the altitude of 600 metres above sea level, 18 km from the beautiful beaches of the Gulf of Patti and 20 km from Floresta, the highest town site in Sicily (over 1200 m. of altitude).The B@B “LE POIANE is a charming villa located in the green countryside immersed among the Green Hills of Nebrodi, with a fascinating forward-looking on Timeto Valley down on the sea and the Aeolian Islands, While, behind the lodging House, there is the wood of hazels, chestnuts trees and Oaks that host the Buzzards, magnificent hawks, variegated brown plumage and white, with large wings, hooked beak, strong claws and sharp eyesight. Often we hear their cry and flutter to explore the territory in search of their prey. With them, other birds and wild animals inhabit the forest: woodpeckers, cuckoos, owls, pigeons, doves, Jays, nightingales, hedgehogs, Martens, dormice, hedgehogs.
In the garden it sits well in the surrounding landscape planted with olive trees, plants and flowers of all kinds. Luckily there is now no lack of pet-friendly accommodation to make quiet and harmless company with domestic animals: cats, chickens, rabbits and a dog.

The GULF SEA of Patti Marina clear, clean and warm, easily reachable by car, is about 18 km. You can enjoy quiet beaches or bathing establishments and facilities of all kinds. Daily, from Patti Marina, hydrofoils leave for mini-cruises to the Aeolian Islands.
The MOUNTAIN, with forests, lakes, herds and flocks grazing and wild horses, is reachable by car and, after about 20 km, you find yourself at an altitude of over 1200 m. above sea level.

San Piero Patti (Messina Province) is 92 km from Messina, alt. 448 m, in the northern Nebrodi, on the hinterland on the confluence of the Urgesi and the Timeto torrents, area 41.6 sq km, pop. 3,890, post-code 98068, tel. 0941. Agricultural economy. The Town of San Piero Patti, just 2 km away from “Le Poiane”, is located on a hill overlooking the valley of Timeto. Caressed by the breeze of the Tyrrhenian Sea and surrounded by hazelnut trees and hills of Nebrodi- It is a country of ancient origin. Of very ancient origin, it may correspond to the Greek city of Petra, recorded in the 4th century BC. It was inhabited by Arabs, who settled in an area of the country that, even today, It was captured by the Arabs (an area of the town is still known as Arabita). Under the Normans numerous Lombards settled here. In 1320 it became a fief of the Manna
family, passing to the Corvinos five centuries later.
Until 1912 it was called San Pietro sopra Patti. With the stone houses perched on each other and the narrow streets, from the valley, climb to the area called “CASTLE". In fact, after the Norman passage , in feudal times, under the Bourbons, San Piero was a barony. The Castle, today, unfortunately, no longer exists in its place was built a modern Auditorium with its Museum dedicated to the Gospels. To visit the important impressive Church Santa Maria, built in the XV century, the Church was finished in 1581 with the completion of the front. Adjacent the building there is an elegant bell-tower made in Baroque style, whose structure is bound to the church by an arch. Inside are preserved the crypt, a beautiful wooden coffered ceiling and a Baroque organ of Hannibal Lo Bianco recently restored and running. Worthy of particular attention is the precious lacunar ceiling dating to the XVII century. In direction of the chapel on the right of the greater is very interesting a statue of best workmanship representing St. Blaise, made by Antonello Gagini (1478-1536). Small and collected the two churches of the Annunciation and of Grace. Along the streets of the country we meet the two ancient fountains, of Tocco and San Vito. Down in the valley, do not miss the Convent of the Carmelites shod, with adjoining Church by beautiful and colorful Baroque altar. The entire Monastery was restored and has, within it, a beautiful cloister. Do not overlook local crafts and gastronomy. Annual meetings of the tradition sampietrina are those related to religious holidays: the Patron Saints San Biagio and the Madonna della Catena are celebrated each first Sunday in October, the other on the Sunday after Easter. In both occasions the country is welcomed by lights and stalls with products of all kinds, while the band and the procession through the streets of the country. Always linked to religious festivals are processions on Good Friday, the co "varette" and those of the Corpus Domini. From time to time, various events connected with sports or art or craft, attract tourists from all over Sicily.
